Crime
Areas in which have high numbers of Mara Salvatrucha are known to have high crime rates. The gang has been designed to be an interchanging criminal organization and is known for drug trafficking and human trafficking. In a news article they interview a man named Rances Ulices Amaya, a/k/a “Murder “. He is called the "murder" because of the many killings he has done in his life. The sad thing is that they do not have any concrete evidence that he killed anyone. The reason he was sentenced to 50 years in prison was for taking girls as young as 14 from middle schools, high schools and homeless shelters and forced them to perform solicited sex acts for MS-13. They would also gang rape them just for their enjoyment and when they needed money, he would dress them up for a sex trafficking order. When they asked him why he chose young girls, he said it was because they were easier to control.

FBI Steps In
An FBI agent named Robert Saalme - who investigates gangs and violent crimes - stated the main focus and target for them is MS-13 at the moment. He stated that MS-13 is the largest and most powerful gang. The main reason they are known to be the deadliest gang around is because their motto is to control, rape, and kill. The government is trying to slow down and eventually stop the gang but it is extremely hard to do because of how powerful they are. In December 2004, the FBI sent out a group called National Gang Task Force. It was the first group the FBI made of the sort and it was designed just for them to get an extremely close look on the gang. The task force was a croup on 6,000 police and they were only able to take about 650 MS-13 members into custody. In 2008 a man named “Luke” did something no other federal agent had even come close to doing. Luke went undercover as a man who wanted to join the gang in Washington D.C. He actually got in and joined the gang. But he had to play out a murdered and make it look like he killed someone before he got into MS-13. He bought drugs and guns from a lot of gang member also. They thought he was really one of them. After he was in the gang for about 18 months, the FBI pulled him out because it got far too intense for him to handle. After the mission was accomplished, they were able to arrest 23 gang member that he bought drugs and fire arms from.
